The Pakhtunkhwa government Friday urged the government of Punjab to immediately lift ban on inter-provincial movement of supply and movement of different varieties of flour and wheat so that inexpensive quality atta could be provide to people at their doorsteps.
Addressing a press conference here at Information Media Centre, provincial Minister for Food Shuja Khan and Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain while explaining the so called advertisements published in national dailies regarding provision of flour supply to the provincial government in accordance to set formula said that provincial government was taking the issue seriously and there was no truth in such advertisements as ban on flour to Pakhtunkhwa's government still remained intact.
Iftikhar said that ban on inter-provincial movement of flour was illegal and unconstitutional. He said that cost of flour bag in Punjab province was about Rs 410 while the same bag had been sold here at Rs 680.
He said that their government would not allow any one to create artificial crisis of flour in the province.
He recalled various meetings with the authorities of Punjab government with an objective to lift ban on the supply of flour and easy availability of atta to people.
